Maine Birds
While living in Maine, I have pulled inspiration from its beautiful wildlife, especially the local birds. To pay tribute to our feathered friends, I have painted my favorite birds that I have documented on my travels in Maine. I took a mixed media approach and used ink, acrylic gouache and colored pencil.
After I finished the paintings, I experimented making a pattern out of them. I painted berries, seeds and other foods the birds of Maine would eat as fillers for the pattern.
